JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson city spokesperson, Sheila Byrd has confirmed that Aaron Banks, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Quality of Life, is no longer employed with the City of Jackson.

In 2013, Banks, a 38-year-old pastor, served as a Liaison of the Mayor's office to the community at large as a Constituent Services Representative under the late Mayor Chokwe Lumumba. 

After Lumumba's death, Banks campaigned for now mayor Tony Yarber and became Deputy Chief Administrative Officer under Mayor Yarber. 

The Division of Quality of Life includes the city's departments of Parks and Recreation, Human and Cultural Services and Personnel.

Asked why Banks is no longer employed with the city, Byrd said, in an email, "This is a personnel matter. However, please be assured that the administration will continue to handle the business of its citizens to make certain that services are provided efficiently and effectively.
