JPD and HCSO seize stash of drugs, cash

Another overcast, but warm day in the Jackson metro area. I', Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

A stash of drugs, valued at more than $25,000, and cash are now off the streets in Hinds County. Jackson police officers and the Hinds County Sheriff's Department seized 25 pounds of pot in a joint drug bust.

Plus, a year-long investigation by special agents from the Office of the State Auditor has resulted in the filing of 259 criminal charges and the arrest of a member of the Alcorn County Board of Supervisors, the county purchase clerk, and three county vendors.

And, a woman, captured on surveillance cameras walking through the French Quarter ‘poking' random pedestrians with a sharp object, has now been identified.

Also, Lucky Town Brewing Company, the first and only brewery in Jackson, is making history again. 

In sports, can Alcorn make history in the SWAC championship game.
