Pair of Hinds Eagles sign with ULM

RAYMOND, MS ( - Keller Bradford (Raymond) and Tyler Cox (Brandon), both sophomores on the Hinds Community College baseball team, recently inked with the University of Louisiana-Monroe (ULM) baseball program.

The duo will join current Hinds teammate Derek Martin (Flora), who also recently signed with ULM, in Monroe, La., and now gives the Eagles 11 players that will head to the Division I level after their sophomore seasons in Raymond.

Bradford, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, was very effective for the Eagles as a freshman, especially during a postseason run that saw Hinds finish No. 2 in the country after competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championship game in Enid, Okla.

The submarine thrower made 10 appearances, finishing with a 1-0 record, 2.70 ERA, seven strikeouts and allowed only two earned runs all season.

Cox, a sophomore infielder/outfielder, showed his strength and versatility as a rookie, ending the season with three home runs and 10 RBI, to go along with 14 runs scored and one double.
