A Silver Alert issued Friday for a Monroe County man was canceled Sunday.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued the Silver Alert for 87-year-old Herbert Sanderson of Hatley in Monroe County.

The alert stated Sanderson was last seen at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home.

Around 3:30 p.m. Sunday we spoke to a dispatcher at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and were told Sanderson was 'located about two hours ago'.

Officials said Sanderson was located on Munn Road in Monroe County.

"He was laying in the road and his van was near him, stuck in a field," the dispatcher said. It is unknown how long Sanderson had been at the location.

Officials told us Sanderson was taken to Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory and he was talking; he was just a little confused.

When the alert was issued family members said medical issues may have had something to do with Sanderson's disappearance.
