Heading home for the holidays

Airports across the country are packed Wednesday as millions of travelers head to their destinations for Thanksgiving.

Wednesday morning the crowd at the Jackson Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport wasn't too bad. As one of the busiest travel days of the year passengers did wait a little in the security line, but that line and check-in moved pretty quickly.

Also, according to the airport's website most flights are on time, but there have been some delays. Travelers we spoke to say they're looking forward to getting out of the airports and making it home for the holidays.

“Going home it's kind of like a little reunion you know there's not much to do but you do get to see everyone so it's nice you don't realize what you have until it's not there,” said college student Miranda Land.College student Derek Miller said he's focused on the food. "Really and truly just the food that's really exciting me can't wait to get some of momma's cooking," said Miller.

If you're one of the millions driving away for Thanksgiving dinner, good news regarding gas prices, according to AAA, they're the lowest they've been in years during the Thanksgiving holiday.
