JSU defensive coordinator Derrick Burroughs will not return in 2015

JACKSON (WLBT & JSUTigers.com) - Jackson State head football coach Harold Jackson announced today that associate head coach/defensive coordinator Derrick Burroughs will not return next season.

"I thank Coach Burroughs for the contributions he made to the Jackson State football program," said Jackson.

Before coming to JSU, Burroughs was the head coach for 4 seasons at Lane College. The Mobile native has over 18 years of coaching experience at the pro and college level. The Tiger defense allowed an average of 366 yards a game, good for 3rd in the SWAC.

It's the first change Jackson has made to his staff after a 5-7 season. The high note for JSU was finishing the campaign with back-to-back wins, including a 34-31 comeback victory over #23 Alcorn State.
