MSU #4, Ole Miss #19 in new College Football Playoff Top 25

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - The fifth College Football Playoff Top 25 poll was released on Tuesday. Six SEC teams are ranked in the poll. Mississippi State remains at #4. The Bulldogs stay put in the poll after beating Vanderbilt 51-0.

Ole Miss falls 11 spots to #19. The Rebels dropped after falling to Arkansas 30-0.

The Bulldogs and Rebels face off Saturday in the Egg Bowl. Kickoff is at 2:30pm on CBS.

The College Football Playoff selection committee will release the final Top 25 of the regular season on December 2nd. The 12 members are emphasizing head-to-head results, conference champions, and strength of schedule.

Selection Sunday is set for December 7th. The committee will select the top 4 teams for the playoff (semifinals are Sugar & Rose Bowls) at 10:45am on ESPN. At 12:45pm, the committee will also select the teams for the Fiesta, Orange, Cotton, and Peach Bowls.
