Calorie counts will be posted at restaurants

You'll soon know just how many calories are in your favorite burger, slice of pizza, and even movie popcorn!

The U-S Food and Drug Administration has finalized new rules that require calorie information to be clearly posted in food establishments.

Menu labeling will apply to restaurants, amusement parks, vending machines and movie theaters. The labeling requirements also apply to supermarkets items if they are part of a chain of 20 or more locations.

Certain alcoholic beverages will be included as well.

The FDA says these rules should help consumers make more informed choices when they're eating away from home. Food establishments will have one year to comply with these labeling requirements.
