Operation Shoestring Helping Families and Senior Citizens for Thanksgiving

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Operation Shoestring, a nonprofit serving children and families in central Jackson, has announced they will provide more than 250 Thanksgiving dinners for families and senior citizens on Monday, November 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Community partners who contributed to this year's Thanksgiving distribution through food donations or financial support include Forman Perry Watkins Krutz & Tardy, Magnolia Bar Foundation, and Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance. Some of these businesses and organizations will have volunteers on hand at Shoestring to help hand out food boxes Monday.

“We want to make sure as many Jackson families as possible get to have an enjoyable Thanksgiving," said Operation Shoestring Programs Director Amber May. "We couldn't do this without the support of several businesses and organizations throughout Jackson, some of whom have been supporting us in this effort for years.”

Operation Shoestring was founded in 1968, and works to educate, inspire, and empower children and families in the central Jackson community.
