JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The man accused of running over and killing a woman in a wheelchair and her friend has been granted a $200,000 bond.
The Clarion-Ledger reports (http://on.thec-l.com/M67g8n ) bond was set during a hearing on Monday.
Authorities say Powell Calhoun was pushing Donna Williams in a wheelchair on I-55 South Frontage Road on April 3 when 50-year-old Ling Lu of Jackson, who was driving a car, struck and killed both Calhoun and Williams.
Lu is charged with two counts of manslaughter and also was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident after the crash.
Lu has not posted bail and remains jailed at the Hinds County Detention Center.
It could not be determined whether Lu had an attorney.
