Exercise helps fight colds

By Stephanie Bell Flynt - bio | email

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A little bit of exercise every day may help keep the doctor away.

Researchers have found the more physically active people are, the fewer colds they get during the fall and winter months. The added bonus...when people who exercise do get colds, their symptoms are less severe than more sedentary people.

Doctors say bouts of exercise can temporarily increase immune system cells in the body.
