PELAHATCHIE, MS (WLBT) - It cut the town in half during morning rush hour and while children were trying to get to school, when the train blocked all Pelahatchie crossings of the Kansas City Southern Railroad.
We had some children trying to get to school try to convince us school had shut down.
School had not shut down, but students had been told not to try to crawl through the train to get to class. We had to go all the way to Morton to get to Police Chief Glenda Shoemaker who was south of the disabled train.
Pelahatchie Mayor Knox Ross talked with us about the disabled train.
People in Pelahatchie were happy to see the train rolling again and clearing crossings. They had been shut down for more than three hours.
