CLINTON, MS (WLBT) -  A local group of teen performers tried out for "America's Got Talent."

Thousands of hopefuls gave it their all in front of producers at auditions in Dallas, Texas. Host Nick Cannon and the crew were at the convention center shooting promos.

Representing central Mississippi was the Focus Show Choir. Teens from Madison, Clinton, Vicksburg and more sang and danced in hopes of moving on to the next round.

"What we did was a variety act. We did a tribute to Michael Jackson, but there were all kinds of things out there. Then a lot of them do solos. We had a lot of kids singing pieces in other languages, duets and that kind of stuff," said Focus Show Choir Director Faith Martin.

See if focus show choir makes it to the semi-finals on season five of "America's Got Talent" to air this summer on WLBT.
