JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The city of Jackson is hoping to put hundreds of area youth to work this summer.
Friday morning Jackson Mayor Frank Melton announced the city plans to hire 300 kids for this summer's jobs program.
In addition to that, I.M.S. Technical Institute will hire another additional 300 kids to work for them during the summer months.
The jobs are being partially funded with recently released stimulus funds.
People who want to apply for these jobs can pick up applications at I.M.S. Engineering at 1999 Highway 80 West, or at the city of Cackson Youth Employment Division in the Jackson Medical Mall. Everyone must apply before May 13th.
