Rape Victim Survives After Being Thrown Off Bridge

A Rolling Fork man is behind bars accused of kidnapping and raping a woman. Authorities say 30 year old Jimmie Hall knew the Sharkey County woman and kidnapped her at knifepoint after she offered him a ride. He then raped her repeatedly as they drove through four counties.

Hall then threw her off a bridge in the Yazoo national wildlife refuge. Police say the woman hung onto a pillar where she was later found Monday by a Twin County electric worker who heard her call for help.

The case has been turned over to the F.B.I because it spans mulitple counties. Officials say the rescued woman was taken to the hospital where she is in pain but appears to be in stable condition.

Hall is being held in the Issaquena County correctional facility.
