WLBT 3 - Jackson, MS: FBI Searching for Ginn

Hinds Co. 05/02/08

FBI Searching for Ginn

An update on the case of missing bank executive Mark Ginn. WLBT has learned why the FBI is involved. Sources confirm there is an ongoing investigation concerning Ginn's employment with BankPlus in Byram.

The probe is focused on suspicious activity at the bank. BankPlus officials would not comment. However, an official with the Byram branch earlier said that they could neither confirm nor deny any money is missing from the bank and they are cooperating with authorities.

The 52-year-old Ginn, who is also a Hinds County school board member, was last seen April 14th. He had open heart surgery two weeks earlier and may still have health problems. He was spotted driving a 1996 bronze Jeep Grand Cherokee with license plate number 255 HEN.

Ginn's family recently appealed for help locating him; offering a 5-thousand dollar reward. If you have any information, contact the Hinds County Sheriff's department at 601-856-2600.

WLBT has received numerous calls and emails reporting Ginn has been seen in places as far away as Barbados, but officials tell us those are just rumors and the search and investigation continues.
