The search continues tonight for the missing Jackson state student. Latasha Norman was last seen leaving class last Tuesday. Investigators remain tight lipped about leads they're following in the case during a press conference, where family members expressed their concern about how long she's been missing.
After one week, very few clues have turned up on the wherabouts of Latasha. She was last seen leaving an accounting class at Jackson state around 2:30 Tuesday November 13th.
Her father Danny Bolden, "It's been seven days now we'd like to bring this to a closure, just like the chief said we don't have any leads yet we don't know were still investigating, were crying out for help."
During a briefing on campus, investigators said they were limited in what they could say about Latasha's case. They say they've received several tips and are following up on several leads.
Hinds County Sheriff and Jackson Police Chief Malcolm McMillin says, "This needs to be national news. We need the rest of the country to have the same kind of concern we have for this."
Latasha recently filed assault charges against her now ex-boyfriend Stanley Cole, after he punched her at a restaurant in Pearl over a month ago. He was arrested and bonded out.
Investigators say Latasha has a new boyfriend who was questioned, but neither one is being held in her disappearance.
Latasha's family last spoke to her the day before she disappeared. Their hope is that she'll be found safe and sound, a probabilty that grows less likely with each passing day.
