WLBT 3 - Jackson, MS: Help is on the Way

December 2, 2005

Help is on the Way

More help is on the way for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Starting Monday, the Mississippi Department of Human Services will be offering a one-time payment assistance through its TANF Program. It's called "TANF Diversion." It is for those who lived in Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, or Pearl River counties, or in select counties or parishes in Alabama and Louisiana. There are some restrictions, and you must apply in the county you're currently living in. For more information, call 1-866-449-9488.
