Infant killed in accident near Philadelphia

PHILADEPLPHIA, MS (WLBT) - An infant was killed after an early morning accident, it happened between 5:30 and six am Sunday on Highway 21 just outside of Philadelphia.

A 14 year old driver was headed north when she lost control of the vehicle, hit an embankment then crashed into a tree and landed upside down in a small pond.

An eight month old baby inside the car was ejected and killed when the car landed on top of her.

The teenager received minor injuries.

The victims names have not been released.

The state highway patrol says the driver will not face charges.
