BELZONI, MS (WLBT) – Gunfire erupted inside a Humphreys county night club killing one man and injuring several others.
Coroner Robert Ragland said 34 year old Ray L. Chapman of Belzoni died shortly before midnight Sunday.
He was pronounced dead at Patients Choice Medical Center in Belzoni.
Chapman suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and arm.
Belzoni Police Chief Mickey Foxworth said the shooting resulted from an argument around a pool table in the Blue Room Cafe on George Lee Street downtown.
Foxworth said three people were shot and transported to University Medical Center in Jackson.
Police are still searching for one major suspect.
The chief said more details of the investigation will be released Monday.
