Deputy's service weapon recovered at drug bust

COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A drug arrest has lead to the recovery of a Copiah County sheriff's deputy's service weapon.

MBN agents executed a search warrant to arrest 32-year-old Joshua Copeland of Crystal Springs.
   
Copeland was charged with resisting arrest, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a stolen firearm. 

Officers recovered a handgun, some cash and eight ounces of marijuana. 

The .40 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol belonged to a Copiah County sheriff’s deputy. 

Copeland is being held at the Copiah County Jail.
