JACKSON, MS (WLBT) –One Jackson congregation helped shoppers find unique holiday gifts, all to benefit local charities.
The Sisterhood of Beth Israel Congregation held its first Holiday Shopping Extravaganza Sunday.
More than 25 vendors set up shop in the Social Hall of the temple on Old Canton Road in Jackson.
It was a great place to find specialty gifts ranging from handmade jewelry, accessories and clothing to frames and even stuffed animals.
Local vendors also offered gourmet cakes and pastries, as well as traditional baked goods and much more.
"The Sisterhood of Beth Israel provides support and community outreach to several charities, Stewpot, Meals on Wheels and Toys for Tots this year," said organizer Charna Schlakman of the Sisterhood of Beth Israel Congregation.
"It's something open to the entire community not just for the people who come here shopping today, but the vendors are not just vendors in our congregation but people all over the county. So it's really already started as a wonderful experience," said Rabbi Valerie Cohen.
If you didn't get a chance to attend this year don't worry, Beth Israel plans to make this an annual holiday shopping event.
