JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Ever wish your school would pump up the nutrition, and the fun, when it comes to school meals? That's the aim of the School Nutrition Association Conference, held this year at the Jackson Convention Complex. School nutrition workers from across the state came out Saturday to see what's new in healthy and tasty foods, and the hottest cookware and serving ware. Some of the food vendors are on the state food service bid. Others are hoping to get on. "I've been coming for 20 years. We always get good information. Good materials. The food vendors are wonderful people," says Gennell Stingley, cafeteria manager for the Attala County Schools. "We're looking at items we're currently using and items we're experimenting with to see if they will be accessible to our district," says Stephanie Hoze, who works with the Hattiesburg Schools but is also the president of the School Nutrition Association. This is the 40th annual School Nutrition Association Conference. It's held in Jackson every other year.
