
LORMAN, MS (WLBT) - The Alcorn State University student, who is now charged with murder, was released late Friday afternoon on a $35,000 bond in Claiborne County.
She is 21-year-old Eboni White. The shooting happened Thursday near Lorman, Mississippi on state Highway 552, at the Stallings Trailer Park.
Twenty-one year-old Eboni Bena White of Port Gibson walked out of the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office in Port Gibson Friday afternoon, shortly after 4 p.m. She is accused of shooting 22-year-old Danielle Nicole Newsom five times, at the Stallings Trailer Park near Lorman. Both are Alcorn State University students.
Sheriff Frank Davis says he is having a hard time getting eyewitnesses to the shooting that happened about 9:15 a.m. Thursday.
Sheriff Davis is personally investigating the case trying to find additional eyewitnesses. He did tell us a .22 caliber semi automatic pistol was the murder weapon.
