JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Dozens of four legged friends go off the leash for epilepsy.
Dogs and their owners took over Lakeshore Park near the reservoir this afternoon. Pups showed their skills on the agility obstacle course and competed in a costume contest. There were also plenty of entertainment and activities for the kids.
WLBT's own Wendy Suares emceed the second annual off the leash event to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation Of Mississippi.
"We wanted to come up with a community event that families could participate in and because dogs and cats have epilepsy as commonly as people do and are even treated with some of the same medicines we thought it was just a natural thing and have everyone come together and have a fun afternoon on a beautiful day like today," said Beth Scarbrough Executive Director of the Epilepsy Foundation Of Mississippi.
At the end of the event a Harley Davidson Motorcycle was raffled off to a very lucky winner.
