WLBT 3 - Jackson, MS: Groundbreaking ceremony for new veterans cemetery

NEWTON, COUNTY (WLBT) - A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday for a new Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton County.
It's located on Highway 80 between Newton and Hickory. About 500 people attended the special ceremony which was complete with the Shovel Ceremony by the Veterans Affairs board.
A two gun salute and taps played in memory of past veterans. Several veterans from the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko made a special trip to witness the event.
The American Legion Patriot Riders escorted the veterans to the ceremony.
