JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - There is new information on the group of men arrested for kidnapping a teen for ransom.
The 17-year-old was rescued Wednesday evening by drug enforcement agents who jumped on the case from a tip.
Eight men are in jail facing charges of kidnapping, extortion and aggravated assault in connection with this crime.
The house where it occurred has also been a trouble spot.
Police have been called there 64 times since May of this year.
The victim in the case has been identified as 17-year-old Chris Dunning.
Thursday evening he remains hospitalized with numerous injuries.
Dunning was kidnapped while working at this carwash on Robinson Road Extension and Raymond Road in south Jackson Wednesday afternoon.
The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics says he was taken to 5072 Lurline Drive where he was beaten and held for $500 ransom.
The kidnappers called Dunnings mother to get the money.
After three hours of torture, he was finally rescued and his captors were arrested.
Officers arrested 23-year-old William Dinkins of Byram, 18-year-old Robert Hurst, 20-year-old Justin Hurst , 33-year-old Dwan Wakefield, 32-year-old Louis Strahan, and 19-year-old Justin Haynes all of Jackson. 53-year-old Donald Thompson of Jackson and 17-year-old Donterrian Wilson of Taylorsville were also arrested.
"They sort of tag teamed him off and on all day, one person would be on him for a while, someone else with broom handles and mops kicking and hands. I understand they may have poured some Clorox bleach on him at one time, it was a round robin torture session," said Marshal Fisher, Director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
Officers seized a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun from the kidnappers.
Police have made numerous arrests for crimes at the house on Lurline Drive including narcotics possession, disturbing the peace and firearms violations.
Chris Dunning is hospitalized with a broken jaw and other injuries.
