WLBT 3 - Jackson, MS: Former MSU student sentenced to death

STARKVILLE, MS (WLBT) - A former Mississippi State student is sentenced to death for killing his college roommate.
Bobby Batiste was convicted of capital murder in the death of 28-year-old Andreas Galanis and sentenced to death Saturday.
Batiste,29, is accused of killing Galanis by blunt-force trauma to the head after they got into a fight in March of 2008.
It happened in their apartment when the victim discovered more $4,500 missing from his checking account. He suspected batiste used his debit card without permission.
Batiste told police Galanis attacked him first, but evidence at the trial refuted that claim.
