A Jackson woman is getting a lot of exposure this week on NBC's Today show.
Interior designer Laurie Smith is helping Matt Lauer re-decorate Katie Couric's office at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
Their progress is being profiled on Today. The segments are a take-off on the TLC cable show Trading Spaces, which features people who exchange rooms and spend 48 hours and $1000 making them over.
Smith lives in Jackson, but she's a regular on Trading Spaces , and was tapped to participate in the NBC segments.
"Katie is clearly a busy woman," said Smith on Wednesday's program, "so I want to create a space for her that first of all is organized, but also has the warmth that you want, because that is where you spend time. We'll bring in some incandescent lighting. I can say that without giving too much away."
You can see the final results of Laurie Smith's work on Friday's Today show, when Katie Couric's re-designed office will be revealed on live TV.
