FLOWOOD, MS (WLBT)- A special reunion was held Sunday for preemies born at Woman's Hospital in Flowood.
Children born early came together for a day of fun and to visit the doctors and nurses who cared for them.
The youngsters dressed in Halloween costumes and enjoyed train rides and space jumps. Long lines also formed around inky the clown who made special balloon animals for the kids. Returning preemies range in age from a few months old to teenagers.
Among them are a 35-year-old father born here and his 10 month old son. It is a time for families to rejoice over the advancements their children have made.
"We're just out here today because he was born three months early, so it was really exciting to get to come to the little preemie party and see everybody and reunite with all the nurses and meet different people," said Vandy Edwards with her son Alijah.
"I've worked here since 1991 and it does us a lot of good to see the babies come back, the children come back as they brow up and we can see how well they're doing," said Susan Everly an RN in NICU.
The reunion is held each year in the last weekend in October.
