
MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The murder trial for former Jackson teacher Carla Hughes is set to begin Monday in Canton.
Hughes faces two counts of murder in the 2006 death of Avis Banks and her unborn child.
Banks was found murdered in her Ridgeland garage. Both women were having relationships with the same man, Keyon Pitman, who is expected to testify for the state.
Hughes could face the death penalty if convicted.
