Bond set at $1M for in robbery of 81-year-old

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A suspect in the assault and robbery of an 81-year-old man is being held on a $1 million bond.

Jeffery Huddleston, a 28-year-old Saltillo man, is charged with strong armed robbery for allegedly beating up and taking the wallet of an 81-year-old man at his Tupelo home Saturday evening.

Police Capt. Bart Aguirre said the victim heard the suspect in his storage room and confronted him and that's when the assault occurred.

He said he man fought with the suspect, but the man overpowered him, ripping off his pants and taking his wallet.

The victim suffered minor injuries.
