WLBT 3 - Jackson, MS: One robbery suspect killed, other jailed

LEAKE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - One suspect is behind bars and another dead after an armed robbery in Leake County.
Sheriff Gregg Waggoner tells WLBT two 17-year-old suspects held up the Twin City Convenience Store on Highway 35 just south of Carthage. The store owner shot at the two teenagers who escaped with some cash, cigarettes, and cigars. As the two fled one noticed the other had been struck and stopped the getaway car.
A passerby called 911 but the victim was pronounced dead at Leake Memorial.
Seventeen year-old Brandon Odom of Kosciusko has been charged with armed robbery. Odom and the store owner were not injured.
