BENTONIA, MS (WLBT) - A part-time Bentonia police officer has been arrested on felony drug charges.
Forty-nine-year-old Carl Fleming was arrested at his place of business on Martin Luther King Drive in Bentonia early Monday evening.
Yazoo County Sheriff Tommy Vaughn says Fleming is charged with two counts of selling suspected cocaine.
Vaughn tells WLBT Fleming was not in uniform at the time of the sale.
The sheriff says Fleming is not eligible for bond since he is already under indictment for assault on a school teacher and was out on a felony bond at the time of his arrest.
Vaughn says Fleming was transferred from the Yazoo County jail to the Warren County jail as a safety precaution.
