JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Celeste McDonald, a 21-year-old black woman, was found dead Monday, April 1, 2019 in another state after being killed in the Capital City, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
McDonald, a Scott County resident, was found in Mound, Louisiana that afternoon in shallow water.
Capt. Johnny Poulos said investigators believe McDonald died somewhere between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, but at this point in the case, they haven’t been able to narrow it any further than that.
Poulos also could not release a cause of death at this point.
Multiple law enforcement agencies worked together and later arrested two suspects, identified as 33-year-old Ryan Christopher Hopkins and 46-year-old Yolanda Michelle Torns, both of Jackson.
