Vicksburg police make arrests in Christmas Eve shooting; third suspect remains at large

Police have warrants for 35-year-old Johnny Gibson, of Jackson, who remains at large.

Vicksburg police make arrests in Christmas Eve shooting; third suspect remains at large

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - Vicksburg police responded to the 1300 block of Washington Street in reference to shots fired around 1:37 a.m. on December 24, 2018.

Witnesses told police that they heard a group men arguing before the shots rang out.

No one was injured in the shooting, but police discovered a number of shell casings in the street.

Police later learned that two vehicles left the area immediately after the shooting—a white GMC pickup and a red Chevrolet Malibu—and that the individuals responsible for the shooting were in the vehicles.

Police were later able to locate the vehicles and occupants.

Twenty-five-year-old Leslie Watts Jr. and 24-year-old Don Londray Bradley, both of Utica, were arrested.

Watts was charged with attempted aggravated assault and two counts of shooting into a motor vehicle. Bradley was charged with obstruction of justice.

The men have since appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court. Watts' bond was set at $1,000,000 and Bradley received a $25,000 bond. They’re being held in the Warren County Jail.

Police have warrants for 35-year-old Johnny Gibson, of Jackson, who remains at large. He is wanted for attempted aggravated assault and two counts of shooting into a motor vehicle.
