HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Sexual harassment lawsuits filed against Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason have been settled.
Attorney Lisa Ross represents the two women who brought the two lawsuits against Sheriff Mason. She says the three agreed to a settlement and are not going to trial.
The female deputies claim Mason sent them unwanted, sexually explicit text messages.
In one of the messages he is accused of texting a deputy and imploring her to ‘hook him up’ with another deputy.
The women say when they didn’t comply with Mason’s wishes they were demoted.
The women also claim they were not paid the wages Mason promised when they were hired.
According to Attorney Lisa Ross, Mason settled all cases for an undisclosed amount.
There is a confidentiality clause, so Attorney Lisa Ross says exact details won’t be made public.
