Pearl couple starring in Food Network show

PEARL, MS (WLBT) - A Pearl couple is starring in a Food Network show at 8:00 p.m. central Wednesday night.

The show is called “Guy’s Grocery Games” and is hosted by Food Network personality Chef Guy Fieri.

In this reality show, four chefs compete in three elimination challenges. Each challenge tests the culinary skills of the chef.

The person who makes it through all three challenges will get a chance to go through the aisles of a grocery store collecting things on a shopping list.

Each thing on the list is worth $2,000 and the if the chef successfully finds all 20 items they can win up to $20,000.

Chef Darwell and his wife of 23 years, Nettie are Mississippi natives.

They own a restaurant called “Darwells To-Go” in Pearl. Nettie is the pastry chef at the restaurant.

Chef Darwell said that he started cooking when he was 15-years-old. He has worked in the restaurant business for 30 years.

“Representing Mississippi is one of the proudest things I do as a chef I would like to inspire others from this area to reach for greatness which is why I hold on to my dreams.”
