STARKVILLE, MS (WLBT) - The Mississippi State men’s and women’s basketball teams each moved up one spot in this week’s Top 25 polls released Monday.

The women’s team moved up to #4 in the country in the Associated Press Top 25 after then 3rd-ranked Baylor lost to Stanford last week. The Bulldogs defeated Southern Miss in Hattiesburg Friday night, 86-42, to improve to 10-0 on the season.

The Mississippi State women play arguably one of the biggest regular season games in program history Tuesday night at #7 Oregon. Tip-off is 9:00 pm central. The game airs on ESPN2.

The Mississippi State men’s team defeated Cincinnati Saturday night in Starkville, improving their record to 9-1.

As a result, the Bulldogs moved up to #16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and #17 in the AP Top 25. Mississippi State hosts Wofford Wednesday night.
