JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - 1000 Jackson connections are under a boil water notice Monday.
The city says that water maintenance replaced a 12″ water valve on Sunday. As a result of this replacement, water was turned off in this area.
Due to a the recent loss of water pressure, the city of Jackson issued the boil water notice as a precaution until further notice.
The areas affected are the following:
- Maria Drive
- Pinedale St.
- Dianne Dr.
- Barbara Ann Dr.
- Joanne St.
- Castle Hill Dr. (2300-2399)
- Dorgan St. (1200-1799)
- Brinoy Dr.
- Benwood Dr.
- Woodside Dr. (2600-2999)
The city says this is simply a precautionary advisory. IT does not mean your water is unsafe but advises you to boil you water before use. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for cooking, baking, making ice cubes, brushing teeth, taking medicine, washing food, mixing baby formula, feeding pets, washing dishes, and any other consumption.
The city says residents will be notified as soon as the boil water advisory is lifted. They expect it to be lifted on or before Wednesday.
