COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The Copiah County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that happened Sunday morning.
According to Sheriff Harold Jones, a man was killed on County Farm Road.
The sheriff has identified the victim as 33-year-old Canvis Hester of Hazlehurst. He was found on the side of the road with multiple gunshot wounds.
Twenty-year-old Dajour Nashay Sutton of Hazlehurst; 22-year-old Augustyn Lewis of Crystal Springs; 22-year-old Antonio Bailey of Crystal Springs; and 39-year-old Kimberly Sutton were arrested on Tuesday in connection to his murder.
All four suspects have been charged with capital murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime, kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
Investigators have reason to believe that the suspects, who were arrested in various areas of Copiah County, all knew the victim.
A motive has not been determined at this point, and Copiah County Sheriff’s Office continues to actively investigate the case.
