FIRST ALERT: Even Colder Air to Move in!

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -The weekend has started off on a wintry note as high temperatures barely reached the 50 degree mark. Although we’ve seen plenty of sunshine throughout the day, a little disturbance overhead will provide the chance to see some hit or miss showers this evening and into the overnight period. Temperatures will drop to the mid 30s for most of us tonight, but some will even wake up to the low 30s Sunday morning. Freeze Warnings are in place for counties north of the metro because of this forecast! Be sure to protect your plants and bring in our outdoor pets if you live in this area.

Sunday will be another cold day with highs only reaching the low 50s yet again... we'll stay partly to mostly cloudy all day until a few showers move in late. The best chance for rain is certainly looking to be Monday as our next cold front moves through.

Shower chances will remain high until we finally see some clearing Tuesday morning. After that cold front pushes through, even colder air moves in! This means most, if not all, of us see our first freeze by the middle of next week! Both Wednesday and Thursday mornings look to start off in the upper 20s! Feels-like temperatures will be pretty brutal heading to work and school this week, stay warm!
