JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Cornelius Bailey, a 27-year-old black man, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, after a shooting early that morning, according to Jackson police.
Sgt. Roderick Holmes said officers responded to Mayes Street near Sears Street at approximately 3:30 a.m., where they found Bailey and another black man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paramedics transported the unidentified man to an unnamed hospital where he’s currently listed in critical condition.
Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an argument between the two men, according to witnesses.
However, the nature of that argument has not been determined.
Police have not made any arrests in the case at this point.
