Driver killed in fiery crash on I-20 identified

A 2009 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound, and for unknown reasons, left the road and collided with a bridge pillar and burst into flames.

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - One person died after a car caught fire on I-20 near the stack.

The victim was identified as 32-year-old Joshua J. Stodghill from Pearl.

MHP and Pearl police responded to the crash on I-20 at I-55 N Exit 46.

According to Kervin Stewart with MHP, just before 6:30 a.m. a 2009 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound, and for unknown reasons, left the road and collided with a bridge pillar and burst into flames.

Cpl. Stewart says it appeared the driver was the only person in the car and they died as a result of their injuries.
