Game of the Week: MRA looks to break Prep’s streak

MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) -Many thought Jackson Academy was the team that might be able to finally end Prep’s streak, but they fell short 35-13.

When MRA went to the Brickyard last week, the Pats topped the Raiders 41-6. So now it seems as if MRA might be the team to finally do the unthinkable.

“This is a very important week for us,” MRA sophomore Hayes Puckett said. “It would be really awesome to beat them.”

“Different matchups are for different people,” MRA Head Coach Hebert Davis said. “We don’t really look at that. We just look at what we think we can do against our opponents and try to adjust our game plan each week to that. We do have confidence. We feel like we can do some great things if we stay discipline and do what we’re supposed to do.

This matchup will mostly likely all boil down to stopping the number three running back recruit in the nation, Jerrion Ealy.

“They’re just so disciplined,” Davis said. “They play so hard so you have to match that. They’re a championship-type program and so we have to play on the same type of caliber. Whoever makes the least amount of mistakes is probably going to win.”

There’s a chance history will be made Friday night at MRA.
