Brandon police chase ended in Jackson with arrest

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A police chase that started in Brandon, ended in Jackson with an arrest.

According to Brandon Police Chief William Thompson, Brandon police stopped the chase at the Jackson city limits.

According to Richland police PIO Allison Clark, Richland police picked up on the chase on I-20 and continued into Jackson where Collins crashed and was apprehended by a Rankin County K9 on Avalon Road.

Collins rammed a Richland police officer’s car twice.

No injuries were reported and Collins was arrested by Richland PD.

He is currently in the custody of Rankin County Sheriff’s Department charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing and misdemeanor drug charges.

Collins was out on felony bond from a previous incident of auto burglary out of Jackson.
