Wanted man crashes after fleeing deputies

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Hinds County Sheriff’s Investigators along with Richland Police were attempting to take a wanted subject into custody on Terry Road near McDowell when the suspect fled in a gray Honda and crashed into a steel post in a parking lot near University Blvd. and Wilmington St.

According to Major Pete Luke with the Hind County Sheriff’s Department, 28-year-old Kareem Amir Tate, of Jackson, was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Jackson police, AMR and the Jackson Fire Department were on scene assisting.

“Tate had four outstanding felony warrants related to weapons and drug charges out of Richland, Mississippi,” said Luke. “He now faces additional charges including evading police.”

No other injuries were reported.
