JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Innovate Mississippi recently announced the 2018 Mississippi Innovators Hall of Fame Inductees, Legend Award recipients and Innovation Impact Award recipients.

The recipients will be recognized Thursday at the Mississippi Innovators Hall of Fame Gala.

The Mississippi Innovators Hall of Fame was established in 2008 to recognize outstanding individuals and companies who have helped put Mississippi on the map as a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.

The prestigious Legend Award, presented to distinguished, exemplary and visionary leaders and innovators who have had a legendary impact on the state of Mississippi, will be awarded to C Spire co-founders Wade H. Creekmore, Jr. and James H. Creekmore, Sr.

The Hall of Fame inductees will include: Gail Pittman, founder of Gail Pittman, Inc. in Ridgeland; Leo Seal, Jr. (posthumously), Hancock Bank, legacy and former CEO of Hancock Holding Company in Gulfport; and Dr. Ernest Burdette, Robert Sandoz and Frank Wilem, Jr., founders of Triton Systems in Long Beach.

The evening will also recognize four emerging high-growth innovators as Innovation Impact Award recipients. The Innovation Impact award winners include Algix in Meridian, Brighter Health Network in Flowood, Edgetheory in Ridgeland and Kopis Mobile in Flowood.

Innovate Mississippi is a nonprofit organization with the mission to drive innovation and technology-based economic development for the State of Mississippi.
